Do Blackpool Sixth accept CV's?
No, all applicants must complete the Blackpool Sixth Form College application form. Your CV will not be considered as part of the shortlisting process.
I can't access the vacancy details on the website, who I do contact?
Please email us on hr@blackpoolsixth.ac.uk stating the job reference number and the problem you are experiencing. We will get our IT department to investigate and let you know when the problem is fixed via return email.
Am I suitable for the role?
Please take time to read the job description and the person specification. The job description gives you an overview of what the job entails and listed on the person specification are the criteria we are looking for people to have. The job description should excite you and if you meet all the essential criteria we want to hear from you!
I want to apply for two vacancies. Do I need to complete separate applications?
Each role and person specification will vary. To give yourself the best chance of being short listed your application should be adapted to showcase how you meet the criteria listed for each role.
How do I find out how many hours are required for the role?
Each vacancy has a full job description where these details can be found.
Can I have a tour of the college?
All successful applicants have a tour of the college as part of their interview day.
When can I expect to hear if I have been shortlisted or not?
We will notify those who have been shortlisted and those who have not been shortlisted.
What happens next?
After the closing date we start our shortlisting process, this can take a few days to ensure we evaluate all the information you have given us and to ensure we shortlist the right people. Successful candidates will be sent an invite to interview detailing any preparation that may need to completed in advance. Successful candidates are asked to confirm to HR that they will be attending and make us aware of any special requirements.
What happens on the interview day?
The day varies depending on the position you have applied for. Arrival at the college is normally at 8:00am. The morning will consist of various tasks designed to explore your knowledge and capabilities for the role. We will assess the activities undertaken during the morning and it may be that not all candidates will proceed to the formal interviews in the afternoon. You will be asked to bring ID with you so we can process your DBS application should you be offered the job. The day is as much your chance to see if we are the right fit for you as it is for us, so ask as many questions as you like.
