The Teaching School

Blackpool Sixth Form is committed to the development of all its teachers and leaders and along with Hodgson Academy has been designated as a Teaching School. As one of only 100 teaching schools, the partnership will take a national and regional lead in both shaping and delivering the training and professional development of current and future generations of teachers. Hodgson and Blackpool Sixth Form will have responsibility for talent spotting programmes and leadership qualifications. The Teaching School's programme is designed to bring more high quality graduates to the profession. The Teaching School Partnership is now known collectively as the Fylde Coast Teaching School Alliance.

The National Professional Qualification for Middle and Senior Leadership

The National Professional Qualification for Middle and Senior Leadership (NPQML/SL) is a new qualification that provides national recognition of your leadership development and professional achievement as a leader.

Twilight Training Sessions

The Teaching School acknowledges and values the significant wealth of experience, range and diversity of skills and the admirable levels of energy, commitment and drive shared every day in schools in Blackpool and the Fylde Coast. The Teaching School seeks to build upon this invaluable strength and work with a wide range of partners to raise standards for children, young people and their families.

Developing Teaching & Learning

Delivered by experienced and fully qualified facilitators, this exciting and rewarding programme provides you with time to share ideas and improve your practice. Hosted across different institutions within our Alliance, you will get the opportunity to work with teachers from different subject areas and sectors.

Middle Leaders Short Course

The Middle Leaders short course focuses on essential leadership skills to support developing and aspiring leaders. The course blends an operational focus with consideration of current thinking on what makes an outstanding leader.
